The lecture course “Introduction to Visual Culture” offers an introduction to contemporary cultural history as conceptualised in the academic field of Visual Culture:

1. representation and visuality
2. performance and performativity
3. archival production and memory
4. gender/body/gaze
5. postcolonialism and globalisation
6. urban tactics and strategies
7. new media, technology and virtuality
8. aural culture

Various material relating to these thematic areas can be found in the School of Architecture’s media data bank (mediabase).
