RHYTMISCHE SEQUENZEN IN ENAKTIVEN RÄUMEN

Soundscapes are acoustic environments as perceived or experienced and/or understood by a person or people in context. An acoustic environment is sound at the receiver from all sound sources as changed by the environment (1). Designing spatial environments like architecture, installations or VR environments always means to design acoustic environments.

A less noisy environment is not automatically a interesting soundscape.

Beside room acoustic for special issues there are only a few approaches to integrate conditions for acoustic environments into spatial planning. Since sound modifications by the environment are perceived consciously and unconsciously, one can assume that they have a significantly impact  to the quality of spatial environments.

Previous approaches assume a non-dynamic relationship between listeners and environments. The aim of this work is to focus on the movement of recipients through spatial environments and how this affects the perception of soundscapes. The approach is as follows: If movements, which can be thought in different speeds and pathes, are designed together with elements that influence sounds and if these two parts are integrated as a possible time based composed structure in the spatial design, space becomes a field of dynamic acoustic possibilities.
