EU Researchers’ Night 2024
How do we make cities not just smarter, but more responsive to the citizens‘ needs?
Taking part in this year’s European Researchers‘ Night in Graz under the title Life is Science, we explored how to bring cutting-edge research closer to the people. Our team, led by Lovro Koncar-Gamulin, introduced the public to our approach to collaborative mapping — a tool designed to empower citizens by integrating their voices into urban design while simultaneously providing them with an openly accessible network of data about their surroundings.
The visitors looked at how our responsive dashboard can transform cities by integrating subjective community knowledge and existing open datasets — ensuring that urban spaces become more resilient, inclusive, and livable for everyone.
