ENTANGLEMENT, EXTRACTION AND THE FUTURE OF OUR BUILT ENVIRONMENTS

Beginning with a panel discussion on Saturday, 25 September 2021, the curators of the Austrian contribution, PETER MÖRTENBÖCK and HELGE MOOSHAMMER, are launching a series of discursive events on the subject of platform urbanism that will be taking place in the Austrian Pavilion.

We are pleased to announce a public discussion which will take place between one of the curators of the Irish Pavilion, CLARE LYSTER of Annex, and the curators of the Austrian Pavilion, PETER MÖRTENBÖCK and HELGE MOOSHAMMER. In the discussion, the panel will reflect upon the themes that connect each pavilion.

In particular, the discussion will consider the impact of data infrastructures on the continuous production of our built environments and evolving political economies, and the extent to which data materialities can be employed as a methodology for studying the impact of technology on the way we live together. The discussion will be moderated by CARMEN LAEL HINES and be open to all visitors of the Biennale Architettura 2021.
